Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew up in Mexico in a family who loved music. Her early years were spent listening to classical music, old boleros and traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana loves tangos as well opera and dramatic performances. Ana started learning how to sing and play music from an early age, along together with her mom. She received more formal singing instruction when she reached the age of 16 old with the renowned Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. She furthered her training in music at the School of Music of Guadalajara University and later at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. In Guadalajara as well as Mexico City, she was a member of many chamber and opera choirs. After moving into the United States, she performed with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. In 2002 she relocated to Southern California. She sings in Ensemble XXI Redlands, and performs Latin American traditional music solo at many private events. In addition to being a local performer and instructor, her love of music and art keeps her engaged in a wide range of projects. Ana was also a member of both the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is presently a professor at the Performance Loft. Ana hopes, by sharing her knowledge songs from Latin American traditional songs, that she can instill a passion, particularly in the younger generations to keep this tradition alive.
